AIXIA is a computer driven hot wire foam cutter designed to cut flawlessly through expanded (EPS) or extruded (XPS) polystyrene foams with an electronically controlled heated wire. EPS is commonly referred to as "beadboard" ; XPS is usually blue or pink in color and is commonly used as Building insulation.

The AIXIA computer controlled hot wire cutter has several advantages over hand held or manual hot wire cutters. With slight modifications to the designs, you can use your current computer clipart, graphics, designs & mogos. There is no need to manufacture complex wood tracing templates or print flimsy paper templates.
With an AIXIA, you can produce 2, 200, 500 or more of the same object, with each one being strictly identical to the next. The CROMA software allows you to "Step and Repeat" as many copies of your design as will fit in your block or sheet of foam. Additionnaly, by stacking sheets of foam together back to back, you can reduce your cutting time dramatically. For example, the AIXIA Model 444 of the 2AXIS serie has a 49" cutting wire, you could stack 96 sheets of 1/2" foam together and cut through them all at once without reducing your cutting speed (average cutting speed on 24 Kg/m3 of EPS foam is 1500mm/min and 2300mm/min MAX speed on Industrial serie).
